You are tied to someone's destiny. Be happy that you're alive to share yourself.

Though being in a wheelchair gets me down sometimes, in a way, it is a blessing that I started out with a disability. I say that because if I hadn't, I don't think I would have had the bonds that I have with the amazing people in my life.

A memory that comes to mind is dancing with Sonny back in 2002. At first, I wasn't sure if I should for fear of getting weird looks. However, when I thought the kindness Sonny showed me, the fear melted away. I got up the courage to ask him to dance, and that was that. He even danced like me. As he did, I didn't feel alone.

It's moments like that that keep me going. And it also makes me glad to live, laugh and love...To be the only person I know how to be.
